Maquoketa Series Maple Canoe Paddle
The wood used for this hand-crafted canoe paddle comes from a Maple Tree outside Mt. Vernon, IA. The wood was milled by a surgeon who was a logger in his spare time. This was the last set of lumber he milled before his passing, and sat in an attic in a stone cabin outside Mt. Vernon, IA air drying for 25 years.
Hand-carved and finished with 3 coats of marine grade varnish. The grip is finished with boiled linseed oil.
