The wood used for this hand-carved centerpiece comes from a Walnut Tree outside Tama, IA. The tree was milled in 1981 to clear farmland. This along with many other Dark Walnut Boards sat in a wooden shed for the next 38 years air drying. The wooden shed would slowly come down in the last few years due to the harsh Midwest weather, exposing this Dark Walnut wood to the elements.
